Human speech is like a cracked kettle on which we tap crude rhythms for bears to dance to, while we long to make music that will melt the stars. – Gustave Flaubert “Madame Bovary”

Welcome to the Kettle Drum Groove. This is the kettle upon which I tap out my sloppy time signatures at irregular intervals, hoping to coax the occasional dance. I am a poor percussionist, both in reality and within this metaphor, but that is why I continue: to improve. I know I can always be better, so I will persevere. I hope you enjoy what you read here, but if you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear it.
